Planning to download the latest version of MBAM I noticed on both CNET and FIle Hippo a lot of complaints about the current version. Searching around it is clear to me what is currently the best to use.
I've been through them all over the years as each took its turn being "the best': Avast, Eset, etc.and also experienced them all bombing. MBAM was the one program -- at least for clean-up that was the best.
But now I am too scared to try it. I have Norton IS running -- but something is slowing my laptop down. I admit I go to streaming sites that may not be the safest but I am pretty careful.
I have Norton IS and Adblock Plus on both Chrome and IE. I use Chrome when I want to stream.
Any suggestions?

The only consistent complaint I've heard of is with the new UI. People are not fond of the new layout. A lot of reviews still look favorable otherwise. It seems like MBAM's definitions and detection rate is still, for the most part, good.

The new MBAM is fine, 99% of the bad comments are targeted towards the new UI, which I absolutely hate as well. Too colorful and cartoonish, and very reminiscent of various scareware or useless bloat-malware type "optimization" programs.

strange, I actually love the new UI
Want me to convince you?
Just install BullGuard AV or Internet Security, or Avast or Avira and you will change your opinion
now THOSE have horrible UIs -
Just because others are making craptastic UIs doesn't excuse MBAM from crapping up their own. I guess I was just so used to the no-frills yet highly practical old UI that the new UI didn't jive well with me at all.

Removing functionality and making it look like scareware definitely wasn't the smartest move.Ferris23 likes this.

These are my problems which I encounter a month ago:
1) BSOD
When I put few links in web exclusion list and connect via cable connection my laptops always get BSOD because of some system files of MBAM which seems to be buggy. The only workable solution for me was getting wireless connection.
2) Doesn't remove all detected PUP's, so I had to install different software to get rid of them.
Well, thats not painful, but its annoing very time when it perform autoscans to detect these things and not removing it.
3) Buggy web exclusion list.
When I add something which I consider safe, software automatically blocks it no matter the fact I added as web exclusion.
Just to be sure I added SuperAntiSpyware and Panda Cloud Cleaner as my second solutions and Junkware Remove Tool as main cleaning software for PUP's.
Newer MBAM getting very bad comments from users -- What else to use?
