I recently had a problem with my Norton 360 security software where it registered "At Risk", and that I needed to do a malware scan. After repeated scans with no malware or risks detected, the "Risk" warning was still there. I contacted their help & support by clicking the product page which answered within 1 minute, and was asked to allow them access.
I must tell you that this was one of them most uncomfortable feelings in my computing experience. Even though the support person was professional and very capable. Just sitting back watching him access all my computer innards made me feel violated.![]()
In any event, after he was done checking, he suggested I needed to install and updated version of 360 to a my computer which he performed in lightning speed. The issue is now solved.

Become a sys admin and you'll be able to peek at others computer innards all the time.
Better put, it will be often necessary for you to do so.
Jokes aside, I can imagine it must have felt awkward.
Do you know what caused the "At risk" prompt? -
Still, most new antivirus/spyware works behind the scenes and with little use information so it's possible something set it off without me knowing about it? The only other guess would be a glitch in the software, which was corrected with the update.
Incidentally, Norton has the most attractive interface in the business in my opinion. The updated version is even nicer looking than the previous one.
