Norton Internet Security 10 vs Norton 360

I currently have NIS 2010 running on my machine, but now with the new version of 360 available, I'm wondering if I should upgrade? Anyone have experience with both NIS and 360?

I'd like the PC Tuneup tools in 360, and could care less about backup...

 

Stick around here on NBR, read the appropriate threads and you'll be able to 'Tuneup' your PC better than Norton can do.

I like NIS2010 very much, it's an excellent suite.
Norton 360 is, imho, more for those who have absolutely no idea how to 'Tuneup' their computer.

 

I'm a fan of norton products myself and been using NIS 2010 since it came out. Very satisfied with it.

Yes, tunning your pc is best done by yourself.

 

I am using the Norton security suite (modified 360 v4) for Comcast and disabled the PC tune up.

 

Personally, I find most of the Norton 360 tools to be pretty worthless (the "tune up" tools aren't anything magical, they're just a collection of tools for people who are less technically adept), so I would just stick with NIS10. I'm using it now and it's running great.

 

Yeah, Just stick with NIS10, I had 360, and it was nothing special. Except for those little extra bit's and pieces that help you out. IMO, you just need a little knowledge of tuning your computer.

 

Never tried 360 but started to use 2010 and it's very nice so far and is lite on resources even though I have a lot of ram.

 

I've had NIS 2010 since it was released and couldn't be happier. NIS has come a LONG way, and they've done a fantastic job with it.

 

Umm, I think that's the point. The whole point is it's set and forget feature. Sure you have the option of making those fine adjustments yourself, but 360 was developed for those who'd prefer spending their time "driving their car," rather than working on it.

Woah! Don't care about backup? That's scary.

But only if you prefer a hodge-podge of cumbersome peripherals to the streamlined efficiency of suite.

 

That doesn't mean it wasn't any good since no security software is fool-proof. You just have to admit, that it like every other security program simply has it's limits.
