Right now, I have 13 more days before Kasperasky Internet Security 7.0 expires (Internet Security 6.0 is still installed on 3 other XP computers). To renew Kaspersky for 4 computers, I have to spend $90.97 which licenses 5 computers. Kaspersky charges $55.97 for 1-3 licensed computers.
I don't think this is worth it, as I originally paid $40 for it (I got a $40 rebate). What do you guys think I should do?
I am looking at NOD32 right now, as $59.99 for one year seems better. My only question is how many computers I will be able to apply this license to. I have 4 computers, and I'm worried that for $59.99, NOD32 will only license 1-3 computers like Kaspersky.

Avast is free.
But that may be a PITA for a whole bunch of machines, with their registration process and all... I don't know how that works for multiple machines. And AVG and Avira are other free options. Or you could run NOD32 or Kaspersky on 3 of them and Avast on the fourth system. Just my 2 cents. -
The thing is that Kaspersky has a firewall and a few things installed all in one. With a free thing, I will have to install atleast 2 programs to get around the same coverage.
What I want to know right now is how many computers I can use NOD32 on when I purchase it. If it allows 4 computers, it will be $90 for 2 years of coverage versus the $90 of only 1 year of Kaspersky. -
Ah, I see. Looks like the NOD32 suite's pricing is not any better: http://www.eset.com/purchase/index.php

D'oh...I am blind. I just noticed now that the "4-user pack" is $120 for one year. Ah well, $90 goes to Kaspersky.

Go with Avast or a free AV. Firewall isn't necessary...Windows Firewall does the job. Saves you alot of money.
Or buy Windows Live One Care. 50$ up to 3 computers I believe for 1 year. It's pretty good. Might as well have Microsoft product on a Microsoft Windows PC. -
True but it sounded like the OP wanted an all-in-one suite for simplicity. And most 3rd-party firewalls add outbound blocking, which XP's built-in firewall doesn't have.
Uh... Live OneCare has gotten some pretty bad reviews. And it's not performed well in the tests at av-comparatives.org either: http://www.av-comparatives.org/
I'd pass on OneCare, personally.
Still, my approach is kind of like yours, McGrady. Since I'm using Vista and it comes with a firewall and an antispyware program and UAC, I just install Avast and I'm done.
Renew or buy new?
