Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
There is only one version.
-
I know, but the previous version did not support Windows 7 64 bit, this one fixes that issue.....
this update was as a beta first 2 days back as posted by me earlier.......now it's FINAL -
It doesn't show up when you do a product update from within the SAS application. When I tell SAS to check for a product update it tells me that there are no updates available.
-
maybe coz it just got released today......anyway, why don't u just uninstall your current version and install the latest one?
-
possibly because thats what an update system is there for to begin with? so you don't HAVE to uninstall/reinstall...doing that sort of defeats the purpose of putting the system in place...
-
SAS has always alerted me upon startup whenever a new version was available and asked me if I wanted to install the update (never needed to uninstall the current version). I think I will wait a couple of days and see if it shows up as a product update alert. No hurry since I haven't installed my Windows 7 Professional yet.

thanks alot for the change log dude!
-
I wonder if the new technology core is the reason why it doesn't show up in product updates through SAS? It may not be possible to upgrade the current version, thus requiring a new install.
-
For every new VERSION update, it requires a new install. "Check for updates" is only for definition updates. Thus the reason to uninstall the previous version before installing the latest version. My one nag on SAS was the slow load time, but with this new version it comes up almost instantly.
-
very good point..... didn't notice that
-
No...its been like that since day 1. Always had to install the latest version over the old, it would never notify you when you check for updates.
-
Guess what, it just showed up! When I started SAS a few minutes ago I got the message that a version update was available and asked if I wanted to install it. When I clicked "install" it downloaded version 4.28.1008 and asked me to reboot my computer. There was no need to uninstall the old version.
-
See my post above (#13). It did notify me a short while ago that a version update was available.
-
Never happened to me. Do you have the Free Edition? Also, I think it's because I uncheck the item to check for new version when you install. The reboot of the pc took place of uninstalling the previous version. I didn't have to restart my pc.
-
Yes, I have the free edition. You have to have checked the box for "program updates" in the Update tab under Preferences in order for SAS to automatically alert you when a newer version is available. The funny thing is after updating to version 4.28 thru the SAS updater all my XP computers asked me to reboot, but none of my Vista computers required a reboot.
-
4.28.1010 is out
-
That's what mine upgraded to yesterday; it totally skipped over 4.28.1008.
