Still having problems updating?
(No problems here, maybe one of their servers was down temporarily?). -
if the issue persists and if it's not their servers being down... check your DNS settings, just in case. (many crappy malware variants try to change these, so that various security apps cannot get their updates... usually the changed values start with 85 and if you check the address for example at http://www.db.ripe.net/whois , it usually points somewhere to Ukraine)

How do I do that? Plus, I never had to change anything in the past. Perhaps i'll just install Malwarebytes
thanks bye -
OK!! I installed Malware bytes and tried to update! same problem!
I ran a scan and removed all adware but still no luck. I disabled m firewall, still no luck!
what shall i do guys? -
First, enable your firewall, then flush your current DNS settings.
If that doesn't help, use SmitfraudFix and then reset your router, make sure you have the information from your ISP that you'll have to enter (reset; in my case by sticking a pen/needle/small screwdriver in a small opening in the back, check your manual otherwise)
Use a non-standard username and password for your router configuration (some malware uses standard router usernames and passwords to change router settings).
Cheers.
P.S. If you rename MBAM.exe into another name; "ABC.exe", can you then update the program? -
Nope
-
Have you tried all the steps?
Anyway, maybe you can download and use one of their older databases which can be found here.
Maybe it looks fishy to you but MBAM developer Rubberducky refers to it himself in this MBAM forum thread.
Check post 3 & 4 on how to use it.
Check this page for manually updating SAS.
Cheers. -
IBO, the way how to set or check DNS servers addresses is described here for example:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/e070bf7b-6d5e-4f49-b4f7-10aa8d8b11e21033.mspx
what values do you have there? (values = two addresses, looking like x.x.x.x, when x stands for number 0-255) -
DNS settings are set to AUTOMATIC dude
-
ok, good for you. - is it set correctly everywhere else where could fake dns settings sit? router, whatever.
you may also want to check your hosts file, it's by default at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ - make sure that there are no suspicous changes in it.
SuperAntiSpyware not updating?
