Awesome! I hope it further deters people from buying their products.

having McAfeee or Norton installed on any system is a crime! They will cripple any system down to a huge slow down. Especially McAfee OMG
funny enough, my organization uses McAfee in alll their systems, which are 3 GHz. desktops, believe me I feel like im sitting on a 1 GHz. system due to that POs McAfee Virus Scan -
Ok, but who's getting that princely sum? No doubt it's mostly going to go to the lawyers involved, and maybe $10 gift certificates will be sent to all of the affected users.

I have Norton AV 2009 in my laptop and it performs fine. I wonder how the customers didn't know about auto credit card authorization upon subscription expiration, which they clearly state when buying the product.

nis2009 rocks i used to be a norton hater but the new 2009 lineup changed a lot..
-
I also heard that NortonIS 2009 was a great AV! Low resources and Powerful!
Mcfee is good as well but I wonder why a lot of people said that it is a resource hog. I don't feed any it eat up my resources, especially Mcfee 2009.
ESET NOD 32, of course the lightest and lowest resources and strong AV compared to others except VIPRE!
VIPRE is well-known as lightest AV.
However, these antivirus is paid version.
I stick with the GREATEST FREE AV now, Avira Antivir Personal 9.
I hope more people would stick with FREE version. So, the price for those paid version drop. -
don't bother, they probably won't listen

Symantec and McAfee get what they deserve, pretty good news to me.
Mmm, I'd like to reserve a table at Symantec's, have a McAfee Expresso cup ready for my arrival, sir. -
At least, there was this settlement ~ maybe in the future both will think twice on choosing this type of business practice with their customers.
