    Hi,

Is Virgin's Security Suite totally free?

How good is it compared to Bullguard, Nod32, Kaspersky, McAffee e.t.c.?

Also, when I first saw about it I was very sceptical that Virgin had actually created their own AntiVirus - does it use an already existing antivirus tool?

    Many thanks,

    Froskoy

Are you talking about PC Guard you get when you sign up to their broadband.

If it is this one, yes it's free as long as you have a virgin broadband service, but it doesn't sound to good, I just did a quick google search for PC Guard reviews, seems like the aren't many or any official reviews, but a lot of forums with bad posts about it, so that doesn't sound good!!!

One major bad thing about this software if your using a laptop or portable device is that it will only work on a Virgin Broadband connection. That to me would put me off, I want protection regardless what ISP I use wherever i go. Anyhow, this is what they say:

It's completely free for Virgin broadband subscribers.
However, the PC Guard Total+ package is only for specific subscribers.
I've tried to find a review of it but, like Bangert already wrote, there is only scarce information available (mostly complaints).
Any comparison to the well-known brands becomes therefore impossible.
I'm 99,9% sure that Virgin uses software technology from other vendors but I even haven't been able to find out what AV engine they use (or FW).
Why not contact their customer support and ask them what it is comprised of?
    Cheers.

Thanks very much for the information.

Yes it's not very good if you are travelling around on different connections so thanks very much for that.

Thanks bangert for the link to the link.

Many thanks again - rep to both of you,

    Froskoy.
