Ok it says windows could not find anti virus software on this computer but I have macAfee on this laptop. Why is it saying there is no anti virus software?

A registry flag is set incorrectly. When you install McAfee, it will set a registry flag that signals the Security Center that you are using it. It could also be not started. Check in Services if it has started.
You can tell Windows that you have a program that is protecting your computer in the Security Center in the Control Panel.
Or, you can go to the registry and correct the flag. Or, you can go to the McAfee website and see what they tell you to correct it. You could re-install McAfee.
Registry: HKLM\CurrentContolSet\Services\AntiVirService -
. Go to control panel and open Administrative tools.
2. Click on services.
3. Stop these services:
Windows Security Center
Windows Management Instrumentation
SBSD Security Center Service (if you use Spybot Search & Destroy).
4. Let all them to Automatically start.
5. Follow the path C:\Windows\System32\wbem\Repository and delete the file Repository
6. Go to Services and Continue all the Services above or go to next step.
7. Reboot
This will rebuild the deleted folder and the database. Once restarted, Windows Security Center should show the correct info and antivirus and firewall should now be recognized -
If it is still not working:
Step 1 Go to safe mode (may be with networking) Click on Start/All Programs/Administrative Tools/ right click on
services and click on "run as administrator"
Step 2. Double click on "Windows Management Instrumentation" and click
on STOP button and stop this service
Step 3 Goto c:\windows\system32\wbem\repository and rename the
repository folder to repository.old
Step 4. Then goto "Windows Management Instrumentation" and click on
START button and start this service
Step 5 Restart the computer and issue will be resolved. -
I'd recommend using AVG 8 Free (following these instructions), or Avira after your McAffee subscription runs out.

Did you get these warnings/popups during surfing the internet, are they asking/telling you to download a certain program or was the problem in the registry and has Jakpro's solution worked?
Perhaps you can make a screenshot of one of the popups? -
With Macfee Running I should be ok right? I have done like 3 virus scans and nothing has turned up.
-
If you have a full security suite from McAfee with the anti virus updated you should be OK.
However if you still get these warnings it's important to know what they are.
Are they from Windows Security Center like on this page; link? In that case, check Jakpro's instructions.
If they are random popups while surfing the internet/opening up IE, you might have some adware installed.
To make sure, run Kaspersky's Online Scanner or the one from Eset.
Check my signature for links.
Cheers.
Why do I have no Malware protection now?
