Kapersky Internet Security is a more wholesome product.
But, in my personal opinion, it's an overkill, not to mention a resource hog.

I would sooner recommend you go with a free solution such as MSE, Avast or Avira, all of which do pretty much the same thing but without paying a dime or slowing down your system (while being highly effective at protecting your computer even if you go to 'shady' sites).

That, or if you actually want a paid software, then rather get Norton Internet Security 2010.
It should be mostly as light as the free solutions I mentioned without bogging down your system (it's FAR lighter in contrast to Kapersky either way) while offering comparable protection like Kapersky and the free solutions.

Although seriously, a free a/v is really all you need.

Norton cleaned up their act with 2009 version.
2010 is even more optimized (therefore, if you want a paid solution, get Norton Internet Security 2010).
Kapersky essentially turned into a resource hog unfortunately.

I get free Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 from my Bank, but it blocks my downloads even with the firewall tuned off, also i cannot stop it deleting files it thinks are infected even when i add them to the exception list.

I would def go with kaspersky pure, because its an updated version of KIS2010, with more tools to protect you, KIS 2011 still needs important patches, so its better to be patient for now, and for the norton fans, i personally go to malwaredomainlist and norton sucks at protecting... it always tells u the file is unknown... big help!, it doesnt block me from deleting it, so i can easily open it and get infected.... KASPERSKY ALL DAY!!!
