    ok so i get back from vacation to learn that my email account has sent out a mass email advertise Viagra or something... yea embarrassing.

    anyhow was wondering if my systems has a virus sending this out or if my email has been hacked and i need to delete it and make a new one. thanks for any help

    If it was a virus your AV should have dedected it.The fact that it happened while you were away leads someone to believe that someone that had access to your e-mail(notebook) played a joke on you...

    Well i actually took the notebook with me on vacation... ofc someone could have gotten my email acct info. Anyhow i went ahead and changed the password so hopefully that will fix the problem.

    Are you sure it came from your email account or was just your email adres used/spoofed?

    That's way too little info to start troubleshooting your issue.

    Is it an ISP email or third party? Who?
    How did you discover this? Do you have the headers?
    Is the password the same?
