What is wrong with Google and Android OEMs that they think people have no use for a return/new line key when sending texts?

NICE! I agree... being locked is one thing, but being locked AND being saddled with all that proprietary skin crap with apps you can't uninstall... I hate that.

Christ! WTH?! Seriously? Is it a phone or a weapon? You could kill people if you throw that at them...

Well, that's it. My Infuse is sold. I waited till I was blue in the face, but AT&T still won't release Gingerbread for it... hence no source code release until AT&T releases the final version. Without source we can't even have a complete CM7 version yet.

Anyway... on to greener pastures. The Infuse was a really nice phone though, I have to admit, if only AT&T didn't want to smother it out of existence.

I've had an iPhone for about 2 years now. Just got the 4S though. I usually keep it in my car as an iPod connected to my car's USB port.

My main device is a bit cloudy ATM. I'm floating between a Captivate with ICS, an Atrix with RedPill/CM9, and an older iPhone 4.

They can kinda be a bit idk.. elitist at times. Also, people who might not be super techies tend to be left to fend for themselves it seems.

That's at least how it comes across to me. No doubt it's not a great resource because it is, but other forums are a bit friendlier me thinks.

I am no super techie, but I know that the GSII and the OT forums are great. Very friendly and nice.

Regarding elitism, we are all GSII elitists, but there are no fights between devices and we do respect all devices. :)

I also created a guide and itbwas very well received! It's a sticky in GSII Gnleneral and Q&A :D

Interesting question. I have never used SetCPU. lol. NSTools or Voltage Control here.

Anyways, today I was at a friends house and we were going to watch a Blu-Ray movie... well she couldn't find the remote. What is it with women and remotes?! Seriously I found one in the freezer once where she left it while getting some ice for her Coke. /facepalm. So, I remembered I had that Samsung Remote app on my phone. I connected to her WiFi and just used my phone as a remote! It was rather nifty.

So, Motorola in the most ridiculous move of 2012 has decided that instead of holding up their promise of offering a bootloader unlock option to all their dev customers/techies, they'll just release another RAZR and ship it with an unlocked bootloader.

You know, Motorola surprises me sometimes. I didn't think they would totally re-nig on a promise... but then again, it wouldn't be the first time.

If they're going to give devs and their loyal customers the finger, I'm going to send one right back at them... plus I'm going to tell everyone I know not to buy Moto. (I've found people really take my suggestions seriously..lol)

Does anyone know of an app to block calls and texts from a specific number? I tried Mr. Number and Call Control but they both still let the person leave a voicemail and they don't seem to work at all at blocking texts. I don't mind paying for one. I'm on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The problem with google voice though is that I don't think theres a way to forward calls from your phone, to google voice, let it screen/block, and then forward back to your phone. Meaning if they still have your direct number they can bypass it. It only works if you start giving out your google voice number only and nobody knows your real cell number.

    I think.

That's because you have Sprint, right?
Sprint integrates directly, whereas most carries do not.

I actually had to turn OFF the direct integration because I use both numbers frequently.

I was sure that when ICS was launched, I read that one of the new features would be the ability for users to uninstall any pre-loaded app they wanted, without the need for root access etc.

On my Galaxy Nexus, with the G-Apps, when you go into the settings, there isn't an 'uninstall' option but there is a 'disable' option.
Anyone know if that's basically the same thing?

Supposedly. If the OEM doesn't strip the button out of the Settings app which is 100% possible... Similar to how Samsung ripped out the SIP settings of Gingerbread for their stock firmware for the i9000.

Dear Motorola: Your "sleep" function (get to it by holding down the power button and choosing "sleep") sucks, it never works and either requires me to pull the battery 90% of the time or causes a random reboot.

    Garbage.

    Love,

    Ricky

Has anyone with Motorola phones with "sleep" gotten it to work properly?

If you use DropBox on your Android, you could get some bonus storage with their new beta app that showcases a camera upload feature.

500MB for the first picture auto uploaded and 500MB for every 500MB of videos/pictures auto uploaded. Offer is good up to 5GB total.

On the desktop I use it to sync some files. On the phone, it doesn't sync unless you buy another app called DropSync which isn't developed by DropBox. But it is nice to have access to your DropBox files on your phone with their app. This picture/video upload feature is nice so that you always have a backup incase you delete them or lose your phone.

I've used it for moving files between handsets when I'm away from a PC.

But since I now have 50GB of free storage from Box, I doubt I'll ever use DropBox again.

I recorded some videos on my GNex for the first time yesterday, using the default camcorder app. They were all 720p, h.264 with AAC audio. However, when I tried to play them on the default video player, the video came out OK, but there was static/no audio. I also tried Moboplayer and MXPlayer, but still no audio.

I thought that it might have been an issue with the mic, so I tested a voice recorder app, and voice search - both worked fine. The external speaker also works fine when playing mp3s, and videos on Netflix.

Since there is no audio option in the default camcorder app, I'm not sure what might be causing the issue.

Just wondering if anyone here might have encountered the same thing with their droids, or if you know what the issue might be...
