Well, I only have a Note 2, but that doesn't happen to mine. The battery door will creek a little, but we all know about that.
Also, I may have to give that Rom a try. Haven't used TW in a bit.

Note 2*
The battery creeks a bit on the right, but it's due to a connection being loose, getting a new door will fix it. Now the other creeks... I guess I just have to ignore it.
XXDMC3 is a stable milestone. I don't think my Note 2 has been this stable in a while, even with CarbonROM. -
Chat Heads....Facebook's on to something...Now...if only I could manage to figure out how to import my text messages into Facebook Messenger....
-
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
That's tantamount to dividing by zero. -
It's supposed to prompt you to import the messages but I didn't get any prompt on my install. I'm going to uninstall, reboot, then reinstall to see if it comes up.
-
Is there any way to get these 'chat head' things without the whole Facebook Home app?
-
Facebook Messenger settings, and then enable/disable chat heads.
-
The SMS functionality apparently only works on select handsets. I assume this means anything with Android 4.0+.
Yet another reason to light this phone on fire after smashing it with my car. I wish we had a working camera (and "daily driver" worthy 4.0+ build) but it'll never happen thanks to Motorola.... -
On my S4, it's just a setting in the preferences and the text messages appear automatically - no need for any importing or anything like that.
-
You just asked this to make us jealous of you having an S4, eh?
-
If I wanted to make you jealous, I'd just post photos of it
*cough**cough*
I got a bit of great news earlier - I'm getting my S3 back!
They took the S3 and Galaxy Camera off us before giving us the S4s, so I had the problem of deciding whether to use the S4 as my work handset or my personal handset.
But now we're getting the S3s back, I can use that for work and the S4 as my personal handset!
-
You are so not cool. The S4 is looking better and better, can't wait to see what they have in store for the Note 3!
I would love to see the S5 with flexible display. It'd be great if they could have the kind of display they had with those prototypes at CES, but I doubt the S5 will have it, rather, the S6 has more chances. -
My mom says I am
It's a beautiful piece of hardware.
The firmware is ever-so-slightly buggy but they're releasing updates all the time. After a few early glitches, it feels pretty solid now.
As for the Note3, whatever it brings to the table, it's bound to be a beast.
Samsung wouldn't've gone to the effort of creating a brand for the flexible displays if they weren't on the home straight.
I reckon Youm screens will be available by about this time next year. -
I am so jealous of your S4, Step.
-
I was about to comment 'then why did you just get an HTC One?' but that's not you.
You and TailGunner have confusingly-similar names... -
Haha. I think I read that a black HTC One will be released on AT&T and Sprint. Seems weird to release a new color right now.
-
It's not really a new colour, they were always supposed to release a black version, it just got dropped temporarily due to the production problems.
-
Ohhh. I wasn't aware of that. Good they were able to get it right then. I like the look of it a lot more than the white. Though, I have never been a big fan of white phones.
-
White?
It's just plain aluminium, isn't it? -
That is correct. I just lumped it in with white as I prefer dark colored handsets to lighter toned ones.
-
Ah, ok, fair enough.
I'd say that it's nicer than white though - white looks tacky IMO, whereas aluminium as a bit stylish at least.
I'm glad I have the black S4 now and not the white one any more. -
I agree, wholeheartedly.
Also, I remember you saying the black was much nicer than the white in the case of the S4. Awesome you got the one you wanted. -
Hey... doesn't Sammy's marketing (Unicorn Apocalypse) say you don't need separate phones for work and personal?

I have some dishes that are Corningware which are very chip resistant, but they will shatter in hundreds of pieces if dropped from waist height. If something were a trade off, would you rather have a product that is more scratch resistant or more break resistant? I think I'd side on break resistant.
-
Yeah, break-resistance would be more important to me. One could always install a nice, tough screen protector to prevent scratches, but there's nothing you can do about your screen shattering unless you use a thick case.
-
Yep, LG Optimus G Pro for AT&T is due in May. Sweet.
-
Corningware and Gorilla Glass aren't the same thing. Gorilla Glass is break resistant and scratch resistant.

^Look at LG being all hip with their good taste in music. Nice.
-
Damn, now I can't decide whether to get the white or black. Originally I thought the white looked fresh, but now I'm undecided.
-
I've decided on black.
-
This may not be PC but we have an ongoing joke about phone colors at work:
"White is for girls"
/runningaway -
No Exynos model, no jealousy.
(Kidding but only in the sense that both are great.)
Same here. I've only made one exception to buying tech in black/the darkest hue available. -
I'll be getting black as well. whites for people who are much flashier than me.
-
White is, in fact, for girls, just like clear liquors are for rich women on diets. Ron Swanson.

Ron Swanson ---> The voice of reason.
I personally LOVE the titanium grey on the Note II. I really like white on an iPhone, but Samsung nailed it with titanium grey. The only thing I don't like on the S4 is the dotted pattern on the color. It looks funny, IMO. -
Suddenly it's all making sense to me now.

Which handset(s) are you all talking about?
One of the training team told me he''d heard a rumour that they'd bring Exynos + LTE models into the UK specifically for Samsung staff.
I'm not holding my breath but if that turned out to be true...
Have you seen it in person?
The back of the black S4 is similar-ish to the ATIV S. -

Ah, you decided to switch up?
You won't regret it, it's an amazing piece of kit. -

Is this not black?

If that's black, I still can't stand the dotted patterning. -
On the front it's not as noticeable as in that photo.
And on the back it looks almost more metallic than black - it's like a silvery-grey with a fine black cross-hatch on it.
Definitely worth seeing in person, you may be taken with it. -
Yeah. Strange what motivated me. I can certainly afford it either way, but the rationalization going around in my mind justifies an extra $100, not $150. Having to give back the S3 this week and living with my old Thunderbolt for a month is going to suck though.
-
Suffer thru it. It builds character.

Chat heads makes my phone respond like a 386 pc with 64 mb of RAM running Windows XP.
Of course, given that on a normal day it performs like a pentium 2 pc with 128 mb of RAM running Windows XP I guess it's not much of a difference. :/ -
AT&T just announced the Galaxy S 4 will be available in-stores this coming Saturday: Samsung Galaxy S 4 coming to AT&T stores April 27th, pre-orders arrive April 25th
-
I honestly love the doted pattern. It's stylish and modern, and a great touch overall.
