I was thinking I'd definitely do that as I love my Nexus 4, but as I said, I have an upgrade so might as well use it. Also, the battery life and camera worry me on the nexus 5.

Nexus 5 reportedly due to launch on November 1st, will be available in black and white models
Going for a Friday launch. I want the panda theme one! -

350 for 16 GB...not too shabby. I hope it doesn't turn into the Nexus 4 rage, sold out for weeks then wait weeks and weeks for 2nd huge batch.
-
That, and the website blowing up from traffic on the first day. I hope Google enforces a quantity limit too so people that actually wants one can get one.
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
If they stock it well, won't matter if people buy 10 or 100. Plus it's not like you can resell it for more if Google sells it for 350, unless you plan on selling it overseas or people who don't keep up with the times on Craigslist. -
It's so tempting to get the Nexus 5. Still may have to. What do you all think about the battery? There is just no way it will be able to come close to the G2 in longevity even if kit-kat brings better optimization.
-
The 16GB Nexus 4 were selling on eBay for $500-600 when the initial batch were all sold out on the first day, that's why Google needs to keep opportunists from picking up ten of them on an order.
-
If you want to use the upgrade just to use it, get an iP5S. Apple products always sell. Get a black one, sell it on CL and buy your N5  I've got an upgrade as well. I was planning on getting a N5 and selling my Note 2, but it doesn't look like I'll completely cover the cost of the N5. Seeing Note 2's for 300 now..

Not a phone question as such but a headset question.
Getting fed up of my HS3000 - which functionally is perfect but the mechanical design is crud. BHS3000 - OVERVIEW | SAMSUNG
The side controls are really fiddly, and the call button is so easy to activate that I keep calling people I've called before without realising it - it's resulted in real business problems a couple of times. As I said, functionally perfect... which is why I've stuck with it for so long, conditioning myself to be paranoid of the call button - but I really want to let it go now, the ergonomics just sucks too much, especially when I wear it on jackets.
Reasons it's functionally perfect:
- Jacked. I really don't like most in-ear headsets because they don't offer a) good sound quality b) isolation c) comfort. A headset with a 3.5mm jack means that I can use any earphone / headphone I see fit. I use generic multi-driver in-ear balanced armatures for commutes and custom multi-drivers for longer trips.
- Pairs A2DP, HSP and AVRCP simultaneously to two handsets. This is crucial and anything without is basically a deal-killer. Most headsets are capable of pairing with two handsets but only if one has only A2DP enabled and the other only has HSP enabled (e.g. you can't disable either profile selectively in Windows Phone), and have problems differentiating AVRCP control between the two handsets.
- Supports APT-X. Not lossless, but high quality.
- Bonus Asian videogame-commentary-style voice prompts: "Power On! Devices Connected! Two Devices Connected!"

Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. HTC One vs. Apple iPhone 5 display test confirms AMOLEDs can finally do accurate colors - GSMArena Blog
Speakers have nothing to do with colour accuracy. -
I wasn't trying to declare either one the winner. My point was that it's debatable which of the two is the best because it depends on your preferences. Adobe RGB should have been tuned for absolute accuracy but instead Movie mode has proven to be the most accurate setting Samsung have to offer. Movie mode isn't bad by any means, but HTC's SLCD 3 does produce RGB values with less target deviation and is able to output far more brightness. When it comes to contrast ratio and absolute black, Samsung's AMOLED screens are second to none.
Screens test: HTC One vs. Samsung Galaxy S4 | Smartphones - CNET Reviews
You were talking about more than just the screen of the Note 3 in your previous post. Am I not allowed to do the same? -
Nexus 5 is now available in the Play Store. Ordered the 32GB in white.
-
Gawd, I wish my carrier (US Cellular) played nice with unlocked devices. The Nexus 5 looks awesome. But the three carriers that play nice with the Nexus 5 have miserable coverage in rural Oregon.
-
Me too. Except in black.
-
I slept a bit too long and missed out on the 16gb black
I can order the white which I'm not sure I love, or just bite the bullet and get 32gb black which I know I wont use..
-
I purchased a 16GB white model

Not sure if I should get the Nexus 5 or wait for the S5 / HTC One 2 / LG G3 next year. Either keep the Note 2 and get the Nexus 5 or sell the Note 2 and get one of those 3 phones...
-
Kinda in the same boat. I'll probably get the Nexus still, but now that the black 16gb is out of stock the immediate replacement of the G2 becomes tempting. I think I'll wait for them to restock and save my upgrade for next years offerings.
Not necessarily android, but just saw this Samsung video (released a while ago). Crazy the kinda tech they're revealing. Can't imagine the stuff we don't know about!

Read that a few people are expecting to have their Nexus 5 delivered today. When are you guys expecting delivery?
-
Mine says shipped, but ups says it hasn't left yet so I don't know.
-
Same here.
-
Unfortunately, while everyone's concepts were actually flexible, the production devices from both Samsung and LG using "flexible" screens were curved but inflexible (the Galaxy Round has a fixed curve on the long axis; the LG Flex has a fixed curve on the short axis).Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015

You want to buy a Nexus 5? The world is coming to an end. -
What kinda battery life are you seeing on your Note 2? Mine has deteriorated quite a bit. I don't make it a full day any more.
-
You may want to start checking your tracking number again, mine started working around noon and it supposedly will be here tomorrow. The phone's coming out of Kentucky so hopefully you'll get it much sooner than you think.
-
Same happened with mine. I received the tracking number on Saturday, but it just updated around noon today.
-
I'm not even going to comment on that.
I have to agree with you, it's deteriorating a bit with me as well. I'm thinking of selling it for 300-350€ with a cover and an SD card (32GB Class 10), do you think it'll sell well? I might buy the Nexus 5 with that money, or wait for the next gen, what do you think? -
I was going to list mine at $375 and see what happens. Better to start a bit high.. I'm going to wait until Jan to get a new phone though. Might pick up a N5 at that point then save my upgrade for whatever comes out down the line next year
-
Yep. Getting it tomorrow. Thanks.
-
I wonder whether that's actually battery deterioration or whether it's mostly software. Have you tried going back to a clean image, or even just using one of those apps to see what's draining your battery? In the nearly 1.5 years I've had my GS3, I haven't noticed any decrease in battery life, even when I was on the stock image (moving to CyanogenMod ~2 months ago further boosted my battery life).
-
Some of the early reviews of the Nexus 5 seems to slap it on the wrist in regards to battery life. As long as it isn't as bad as the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, I'm okay with that.
-
The LG G-Flex can flex after all!

It can't be as bad as the Nexus 4, 200 mAH less, older S4 architecture, though more pixels for screen 1080p vs 720p makes a huge difference. -

Somebody on my Facebook feed just posted that he can unlock anyone's phone... and he specifically stated he can unlock people's Nexus 5's for Verizon.
I wanted to leave a smart-a post, but I'm just not feeling it today. -

Is the Z1/Honami 1080p TFT screen really that bad?

I do.
But no, it's not bad at all. It's not IPS, so viewing angles could be better... but it's really not bad. The Togari is better, but huge. Triluminos actually does exactly what it says it advertises. -
I just got my Nexus 5 set up a little bit ago. Anyone else get theirs? Assuming so.
I wish video calls and texts were incorporated into one in hangouts as reviewers pointed out. It's just weird. The speakers could be louder as well. I wish the power button was placed lower as well. I don't understand placing buttons out of reach on phones. Other than those gripes, everything else is great. Obviously can't say anything about battery life. As for the camera, here is a shot I took of my puppy, Saphira.
-
Just got mine too. I actually like how Hangouts and SMS are separated. Charging it to 100% so I can do a rundown test

I feel like the HDR+ should be in the place of regular. The regular shot is IMO a bit disappointing.

Agreed. 10 charssssssss

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Yeah HDR+ and regular is a huge difference, wow.
-
Is its HDR+ any good with living targets (people, dogs, cars, etc) or just still lifes and scenery photos? I generally associate HDR modes only with the latter, so it would make sense to me that it's not the default setting.
