I have been picking up my galaxy tab a 8 more recently. I have Microsoft launcher installed with swiftkey keyboard, and fluent icon pack. I have to say it is doing quite well. It's fast enough to use with no major issues. It's it a polished as my iPad? Nope. But I only paid 299 for this not 899 like I did for my iPad.
I really like MS launcher. Looks nice. With the fluent icon pack it's even more visually pleasing. The only downside now is app storage. I would love to store apps on my 256gb SD card but no can do. So that is one drawback. I cam really enjoying the small form factor of the 8 inch tablet too. Much easier to type on.
The uag case I have on the t's let keeps it protected without being bulky. It's a great case for the tablet.
I will revisit this from time to time with more observations from usage.

Are there any custom roms for the tab? Sometimes 3rd party roms can activate the feature of installing to the SD card
-
As far as I know there are none for this tablet. I am reluctant to do that anyways as most always the device works worse than before installing them.
-
I suppose everyone has their own experiences, my HTC One m7 and Note 4 were significantly better with custom roms, that being said I dont know the scene anymore.
My LG v20 would lose the second screen so I havent much looked into it, but it may be worth pursuing again just to be up to date. -
My note would always lock up for no reason using various custom ROMs. So I just said nah. Not worth the hassle.
-
Fair enough, The note was a pain to flash because of Odin and you had to have a modem flashed too because samsung is amazing.
I might look into the MS launcher just to see what it looks like thoughkojack likes this. -
If you are deep in windows and 365 it's great.
-
ah nevermind then, 365 never works outside of my companies network and cant be bothered to get it working when other applications cover those bases. Works well for my families business though.Vasudev likes this.

Right on. I gather enough points to get about 50-75 dollars of gas per year. That's makes using all ms products worth it for me. I have 30 dollars worth right now sitting in my ms account.

Pleasant surprise when I woke up this morning at turned on my tablet. Android 10 update. I wasn't expecting this tablet to even get one os update. Maybe Samsung is going to give all devices a few years of updates moving forward.

Now that the update has settled in and the tablet restarted after the full install, it is much smoother and faster now. Noticeably better than before. I am very pleased with this little tablet now.
Been using my Samsung tab a 8 lte more lately.
