I am going to swap my Galaxy Note 7 for a new non exploding one. I want to back up my apps and data because I have everything set up the way I want. What is the easiest way to do it? I tried Helium but it just didn't work. It says "backing up data" but just sits there and does nothing. I don't want to go through rooting my phone. Any help, tips?
Also in the phone settings there is "Google Account" "Back up my data" and it's on. It's supposed to back up to my google account, but how do I know it exists? I don't see anything on Google Drive or anywhere else in my Google account.

To perform a full backup of a non-rooted Android 4.0+ device, you may use the ADB Backup feature. You don't need the full Android SDK, just a minimal package containing the adb.exe which you'll execute through CMD after enabling developer mode on your phone.

just use the built in Samsung cloud backup, everything will be the same on any new Samsung phone you buy including the home screen icons lay out and apps -
It you go for another Samsung smartphone, then Smart Switch is the best choice for data backup. Or follow the guidelines in this tutorial: https://www.tunesbro.com/backup-samsung-galaxy-phone-to-pc.html
Currently, it works fine for me.Last edited: Dec 22, 2017 -
