LG V30 anyone?

So far its looking really good, getting praised for its OLED display, IP68 rating, Dual cameras with F1.6 camera aperture and wide angle lens, Quad DAC audio processor w/ headphone jack, wireless charging, and extensive video creation software.

I read that. He makes some good points but sorta comes off as angry.

Ron Amadeo can be hypercritical of any non-Nexus, non-Pixel Android phone.
I think it's important to note that none of the other hands-ons I've seen from other reputable review sources like Marques Brownlee, Erica Griffin, etc have complained about screen quality...and Erica was one of the first to call out LG for the G5's quality control issues, so she's no shill or fangirl. -
I'm not sure if any of the other reviewers took a look at the V30 screen quality on minimum brightness. It did get praise for its max brightness though.
-
Even if the lighting isn't even when viewing a solid color at minimum brightness, if no uneven lighting is detectable in other conditions, does it really matter that much?
-
The problem is, this is LG. They always find something to mess up both hardware wise and software.

Gotta say, this phone peaked my interest, despite glass back (inb4 get a case) and somewhat inadequate battery size (IMO phones with QHD displays need a bigger battery).
Wonder how much will it cost. -

So apparently LG V30 is gonna go on sale in Germany in November, for MSRP of around €900 (according to Notebook check)...
Let's see how the price will change in 4 or so months. Sammy Galaxy S8 can already be found for €530.
Otherwise Oneplus 5 here I come... Or maybe Blackberry Keyone. -

It seems like this time it's availability. The freakin' phone is still not available for purchase in my region!
Oneplus 5t is gonna come out soon, and LG still can't release a phone they advertised a few months ago. IMO, I think they already lost the momento with V30. A highly recommended phone which people will overlook because of the questionable LG strategy.
The only good I see in this is that it should get cheaper soon, which works for me, if I decide to buy it. -
After considering all options, the V30 might be my next phone soon.

Aaaaaand it is still unavailable to purchase in my region...

Finally, it's available to buy on German Amazon. Now to wait a few months until it drops in price

Got my v30+ ! (same as v30 but 128gb storage).

Oh man, Amazon.de is selling silver model for 670 Euros... Very tempted to grab, however I should probably wait for LG G7 (or whatever it's gonna be called) announcement.
-
Just a heads up: the G7 might arrive later in the year than the G6 did.

Yeah, I've read that. Might as well wait till the announcement, see if it's worth the wait. -
Yeah, I was considering this phone until they took away the removable battery. Now not sure what to do. Not many options out there.
My V10 is getting a little long in the tooth. Hold in there lil' V10, you can do it. -
Do you keep several battery packs and change regularly, or do you like having the option for maintenance reasons? If all you want is to replace it when it gets worn out, several glass-backed phones are actually fairly straightforward when it comes to battery replacement.

Personally removable battery isn't a deal breaker to me.
So far I have only used phones with removable batteries, but never actually used this "feature." -

Not impressed with the new (obviously they are subjected to change), so just went ahead and ordered V30 from Amazon. They were selling it for 620 EUR. -
Just got my dual sim V20 for 350 USD
Pretty happy with it, personally I dont need more than 3-4GB RAM, quick charge and removable battery/ SD card are a must for me. -
Sorry for the late reply.
Actually, yes, I do keep several batteries on charge. For the business users that rely on their devices daily, it is a necessity to have working device ready when called upon.
Not too good when your customer calls with an emergency situation, and all they get is voicemail.
"Oops, sorry, my phone battery died... again." I imagine many of us would lose that customer's business.
FWIW, I had planned on buying a ZeroLemon battery form my V10. However, when ZL did finally release the pack, it only came with a pathetic slip on TPU case.
It certainly was not a proper case for dangerous or destructive types of working environments. Not even a belt clip was available, as there had been for many previous ZL products. Highly disappointed, i was, to say the least. -
Plus having 2x batteries cuts the wear and tear in half.
