    Hello
    I have a Toshiba Qosmio X500-Q893
I purchased it in December 2010.
The machine was working fine until yesterday night.
Today morning, when I started the machine, it just shows me a black screen with blue password prompt.
I have not set bios password ever
Is there a virus on the machine?
Or is there some kind of Default password?

Here is my review of the machine

    Any help appreciated

I found this advisory from Toshiba
I never updated my Bios!! My mistake. Looks like a trip to service center.

Finally, I could fix it Had to remove RAM and short the jumpers. The problem happened after a windows update. I did some google searching, and it appears, sometimes windows update can cause this(I can't fathom how).
Toshiba has released a new Bios fix, but for satellites only. For Qosmio they have not done any fixes, which is quite strange.

From searching on google, I see lots of people have faced this problem. Toshiba needs to get a Bios update out. Their last update for Qosmio was in mid 2010!!!!
