been going through the User Guide and a spec sheet -- see no mention or images showing a 2nd internal hard drive bay. would any owners please tell me if the Qosmio X505-Q894 has room for 2 internal drives?

i'll be incredibly surprised if this beast has only 1 internal drive. hehe

    thank you much!

I have had a couple of the X505 Qosmio's and both had the second bay but no bracket which I think is common for the chassis. You can order a bracket here or search for part number A000049520.

It does not come with any screws and shipping, at least with that company, is kind of high but mine came overnight from the manufacturer direct.

Yes, you absolutely can put a second HD into ALL the new gen of Qosmios based on he GeForce 460m. I know that there was an issue with some of the previous 360m based models having a drive bay without the necessary connection, which basically rendered the 2nd bay useless. The new ones do not have this problem, though, so feel free to pop in a secod HD. ;)

    TBolt,

I saw your other thread asking about people's experience with the Qosmio. I just wanted to post and let you know that they are excellent laptops and you will have no troubles from them.

The one I had I believe was the 720 screen and it was very good. I would go with either and the screen is not dark. The only time you see a dark screen is when you take it out in the sun. Now, I know laptops are made to be carried, but let's face it, you don't buy a Qosmio unless you are gaming, etc. So you won't be outside with it.

You will NOT notice any difference inside. They are very nice.

Thank you all for the input, guys! I appreciate the link, as well, SSWilson.

Relieved to have confirmation that there is room for a 2nd hard drive. I am going with the Q894 (720p) model later this week. :)

Again, your help is very much appreciated!
