hmmmm, that's very disappointing, I owned a Sony notebook, and now an HP notebook, and was planning to switch to a Toshiba notebook upon teh release of teh W!ndows 7 but this shows me that Toshiba is using false advertising? Or maybe they achieved that 9 hours after litereally turning everything down and rendering teh laptop almost unusable?

The black NB205 has a 3-cell battery...only the white, brown, pink and blue ones have 6-cell batteries.

    No idea why.

I have the white one and while I haven't timed my battery life, it's been (subjectively) fabulous so far.

You are wrong. The NB205-N210 is the black netbook, for $349.99 that comes with a 6-cell battery. I am typing on it right now...

I am not familiar with the model number of that one the NB200-006, but the NB205-N2 11 is the black version with a 3 cell battery.

I would advise you NOT buy off of the Best Buy website because they have marked up that netbook by $130!

Whoops, my apologies, I thought the black one had a 3-cell. I know there's some differences to account for the $50 price difference.

Just looked it up...looks like the big difference is that the $349 model drops bluetooth. Sorry for any confusion, move along, nothing to see here. :)

there's a little confusion here but that is the canadian Best Buy site :) so prices are in canadian not US dollar. toshiba canada lists that model for $419 (PLL25C-00600C, 3-cell version) and the 6-cell with bluetooth for $469 (canadian). does not appear to be a 6-cell, non-bluetooth version in canada.

I'm running Windows 7 upgraded to 2 GB RAM and I'm getting 6.5-8 hours with 6 Cell battery running on High Performance with WiFi and Bluetooth enabled.

I've only tested my battery with Windows 7 once and I only got about 7-7.5 hours on the Power Saver options (20 or 30% screen brightness). I too have the 6 cell battery. I'm gonna test it again tomorrow and see how long it lasts. How are you getting 6.5 hours on high performance?

eRIN3 - I just am, this is doing mostly reading or light office, I'll get to my office around 6:30 AM and I won't plug in until 12:30 - 1:30, I also allow my screen to dim quickly and it will go into sleep while on battery quickly as well. I don't mind because how quick Windows 7 is to come back from sleep.

If I'm constently on it doing video or music I get the 6ish on battery...
