    Wondering if anyone has any comments to help me;

    I had a laptop write off disaster last week involving a three year old kid and a large stick, decided this is a good a sign as any to upgrade. Given that laptop is no longer useable due to the big hole where the screen should be, I'm hoping to upgrade as soon as possible, as I have no machine outside of work hours I can use.

    Looking at getting a reasonably high spec multimedia laptop and decided I like the novelty of 3D laptops, as although I'm sure I'll get minimal use out of the 3D feature they seem still pretty decent machines.

    That led me to the Toshiba A665-3DV8, which I was about to buy from Amazon when a late google search lead me to the A665-3DV12, but only on sale at one reseller and through ebay.

    This machine looked pretty awesome to me, listed as Sandybridge i7 2630QM, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, USB 3.0 and otherwise as the V8 with blu ray burner, 1366x768 screen (a little disapointing) and also a touch disapointing 5200 rpm 750GB Hard drive.

    To me this looks an ideal machine at the $1500 price mark, and am fully ramped up to buy it, however after 4 days scouring the internet, including this forum and toshiba's website, I can find no mention of this model. Does anybody no if this is a real model and accurate specs or not?

    Newegg also has the 3DV12 Satellite:
    Newegg.com - TOSHIBA Satellite A665-3DV12 Notebook Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory 750GB HDD 5400rpm Blu-Ray Burner NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

    Remember the Sandy Bridge models for Toshiba are BRAND NEW! They just came out last week!

    I agree that the harddrive and display (1366x768) are disappointing. You might also want to check out the HP ENVY 17 3D. It doesn't have the new Sandy Bridge processors, but the price is very similar to the Satellite.

    Good luck and let us know what you decide.
