8600M GT SLI, I have both the 9349 and sli1 laptops and the sli1 is much faster when playing games like Crysis, GOW, COD4.

I would like 7200rpm drives, i agree, and do plan on upgrading that in the future, but the thickness argument I don't really get... these things are big, no doubt.... who cares if "x" is half an inch bigger than "y"? They're all huge, it's got a 17" screen, and the battery won't last ya more than a couple hours anyway... ultimate portability isn't exactly the point of these things.... Me, personally? Give me the bit of extra thickness and great cooling and abilitly to play the latest and great games when I want to... If size was that important I'd get the 12.1" HP tablet....

As for single 8700 or SLI 8600's, I agree with Jesse, we've both run these side by side, and the SLI rig does run faster than the single 8700. But both are good machines, and for the money they're a bargain in my opinion.... you can get an SLi1 for under $2K.

Yes they are a bargain when you look to spending about $4k for a XPS or Alienware, for mobility I use my Sony SZ330P or sometimes the FZ180E that only weigh in at 4Lbs for the SZ330P and 5.4Lbs for the FZ180E so I use those 2 laptops when I need a laptop on the road. I am gonna get the 7200RPM drives too, but I want to wait till these drives start to crap out I just want to get my money's worth out of these drives first.
