hello all....just installed vista on my a100-ta7. setup is flawless, no problems.
THe biggest problem i have had is that the INTEL 945 chipset display upgrade will always fail (screen goes blank and hard reset must be done).
another thing that is bothering me that TOSHIBA drivers (the value added package for the fn keys, etc.) will not install. gives me an error ez_noinstall of some kind.
Anyone try this yet and know what the problem is.....

if anyone wants to comment, please let me know...would like to hear if you have gotten this to work properly. THANKS! -
Hi,
With a BIOS update, the keys will work without the fnkey software.
This is the main problem. After the key works, everything else will be fixed. You'll be able to install the value package without errors.
After solve the problem, I found this observation at Toshiba Windows Vista Upgrade Procedure Information for Satellite (PDF file, available at http://vistadl.toshiba.com/)
Good luck! -
Thanks! I got it to work. new bios version 5.10 installed and valued added package installed flawlessly....the new setup for the Fn keys is very very nice!
Now just gotta get that intel 945 display driver to install somehow.....? any ideas...i know others have the same problem -
The drivers at Toshiba's site is a litle out dated.
First I installed Intel Inf package (8.1.1.1010) and restart the notebook. Then the newer VGA driver version, disponible at Intel's site (15.1).
Is working fine.
Regards.
Edit:
