I bought the same one about a month ago and it works great. :D It could handle everything I throw at it with only the exception of newer 3D games. Its go 7600 is really crippled. But gotta say it's great for its price.

Yeah the go 7600 definitely smokes the X300 :D It's a couple of performance levels higher. I think my go 7600 is performing somewhere between a X1400 (equivalent of a go 7400) and a X1600 (equivalent of a normal 256mb 128bit go 7600) because it has only 128mb of vram and is possibly only 64bit. Nonetheless, I can play FEAR on it on medium/high settings, so Battlefield 2 on low settings definitely wouldn't be a problem!! :D

Hi I was also looking at this notebook. What newer 3D games are you talking about? I need something that can handle games like America's Army, Bf2, CSS and FEAR, on med to high graphics. Will this Handle this?

+1 no high pitched noises for me. I've been an owner for almost seven months. This notebook has been very good to me. No problems yet

Just picked it up myself and to my relieve there is no high-pitch noises :) but the fan lately seems to be staying on constantly even while idling at 33 degrees

    I just purchased a Toshiba Intel Core Duo T2450 2.0GHz Laptop (A200-AH5)

I am thinking about returning it and getting the A100-VA9 at staples
    for about 1100 ?
Would be a good choice ?
It has bigger HD and 2 GB of RAM and I think a better video card

Is the hard drive at 4200 rpm a real bottleneck ?

    Thanks

I tried it out at the store (a100 va9) and the HDD seemed to be pretty speedy compared to others at 4200rpm.

And for all you va9 owners I have 2 questions:
    - What's the battery life on the balanced profile with aero/indexing/sidebar on?
    - What's the battery life on the power saving profile with aero/indexing/sidebar off?

Need to know as I'm deciding between this and the th7 and when I was in store it seemed I couldn't get > 2:45 hours on battery. Any help is appreciated.
