Okay, so I currently (but not for long, I sold this thing on eBay) have an A105-S4064, and 1 week after my warranty expired (I **** you not), the battery stops accepting a charge. I was upset but lived with it, I just kept it plugged in all the time. So last week I go to the support page at toshiba's site for my model, only to find this:

In very rare cases, the battery pack of your PC may stop accepting a charge, i.e., the battery stops working and no longer supplies power to the computer. To minimize the risk of ever experiencing this problem, we strongly recommend that you download and install the latest BIOS by clicking the 'Downloads' link that will appear when you are finished reading Support News.

Okay, so I had signed up to recieve these kinds of notices via email...never got one about this. This was months before my battery went dead, and according to this, could have been prevented.

So is it a coincidence that it died one week after my warranty expired, or planned obsolescence?

Also, 2 months after I got it, the left mouse button broke, or rather the mechanism that makes it 'click' did...it still functions (with some effort), but doesn't 'click' so to speak.

Have these problems happened to anyone else with an A105 model?

Yes....the auction mentioned in bolded text that the battery was no good, and the possibilty that it wouldn't work with a new battery either, since I have no way of knowing since I didn't think it was worth it to buy a new one for $100.

Thus, it sold for less than it would have normally, but people still buy stuff with busted batteries....heck, I saw one with a cracked screen go for $350. *shrug*
