The battery on my new A105-S2091 (a week old) does not hold charge. It has discharged to near zero and even plugging the laptop overnight does not charge the laptop. Has anyone had the same problem?

    Thanks in advance

That does not sound normal - I would exchange it at the place from where you bought the notebook.

Unfortunately, the two week return period at Best Buy has expired, so I need to take it to the local Toshiba service center to have it checked out.

    Bummer.

A follow up on this problem. I turned my lappy in to the local Toshiba authorized service center two weeks ago and picked it up today. When I went through the repair report, the technician had first swapped the main board for a new one and when that didn't fix it, he tried a known good battery and found that it worked. He then replaced the original bad battery with a new one which was the obvious problem. What a bonehead.

Altogether, the repair charges were $830 on a $399 notebook (covered by warranty, of course)!!!
