Ok, so has anyone with this model or any other experienced anything like me? And have you figured out what the problem was? Thanks...

I am experiencing the same problem! And I am curious if it is possible that some BIOS for notebooks are made to work only for certain OS. My solution to this was first to update BIOS since those BIOS changes are made to solve an issue like this, but saw on Toshiba web site, after I found my model and BIOS download, that it has to have Vista installed on it! Is it even possible that BIOS for motherboard can knows which OS I run?! What if I want Linux on my notebook?!
