As the title suggests I'm having an issue with actually the whole computer freezing for a bit then it takes off again. This is after I replaced Vista with XP. Any fix for this as I have seen this in another thread but thought I would make my own.

This is after downgrading or upgrading however you look at it to Windows XP. Worked fine in Vista. Customer was going insane with Vista.

Please make sure that you have updated the BIOS of the laptop to support XP. Because the unit is designed to run in Vista.

Goto Toshiba website and download the BIOS update for your laptop model

I seriously doubt it would be the bios. Might well be some drivers are wrong. Are you sure of he model number? I have an A135-S4666 that I bought a couple of months ago and wiped Vista and installed XP Pro and it has run like a charm. I checked the Toshiba US site and they don't list a 4667. They have a 4677??? I checked the detailed specs on the 4677 against my 4666 and I can't see any difference. Same cpu, chip set, video, sound, hd, memory, so on and so forth.

Chech this thread near the end on what I did to get the drivers for my 4666. You might compare the drivers I used against what you used. Might be of some help.

Yes it is the model 4677. You think the drivers for yours will work for it?

I looked at the detailed spec. sheet on the 4677 and compared it to the spec. sheet on my 4666 and hardware wise it looks identical word for word. The 4677 comes with Vista Home Premium and my 4666 comes with Home Basic so I guess that is why it's a different model number.

Follow what I said in that post. Do everything in the order given in the Installation Instructions file.
