I'm officially reeeaaallly upset with this laptop and Vista (I never should've taken my bros advice and got XP instead). I've tried to create recovery discs since I got the silly thing 2 weeks ago and all I get are error messages. Called the place I purchased it from and of course now that they have my money I get no response. Should've just built the silly thing myself.
Anyway, this is what comes up. Anybody's help would be appreciated and then I can go to the really cool thread to do a clean reinstall and get rid of all the junk on here.
Failed to read the following file.
E:\ZZImages\ZZImages\PREINSTA3.SWM
(error code: 020150-20-00000000)
Guess I should say that this error message comes up when the program is trying to verify the DVD image.

I have had the same issue, any responses to help?

That sucks, I guess Toshiba isn't providing you with a pre-made recovery disk on 2 dvd's like when I bought my laptop a few months ago.

I would advise if you so desire to install xp onto your computer. I recently purchased a toshiba l45 s7423 with sata drive and finally managed to install xp. Thankfully I ran across an article about slipstreaming xp with the correct sata drivers. It worked like a charm. I now have a laptop that came with vista working with xp sp2. I will try to locate the website again for you.

Had the same problem. After I found out that when I tried to copy a cd, although it showed the burning process it came out blank. At the repair shop, the person replaced the burner with the same results. When he tried to make recovery DVD, he ended up with the same error message you are having. After several attempts, he sent the laptop to Toshiba and they found it was a bad memory module. My understanding of it was that the brand name of the module (can't remember the name) was not compatible with the motherboard. This computer has worked fine since without problem. Hope this helps
