I'm now really interested about this laptop, but is it only available in the US?

Because on the US website, you can customize it like you want and with a pretty nice config + 3 years warranty, I was at $1600 only. While in Canada, there is no configuration and the A200 with an HD2600 is $1800 with a T5400 and no extended warranty

Unless you can ship it to a friend in the US then take it across the border, I don't think you can get a customized A200 in Canada. Toshiba Canada's website isn't loading for me ATM, but I imagine they're just like every other major manufacturer--USA gets the good deals, customization, etc, Canada gets pre-config'd models and crap prices, because they think our dollar is still worth $0.60 USD.

I saw it for 1599.99 today at BestBuy; to purchase an extended warranty you have to register it on the Toshiba website then fork over another $250-300. My buddy did this with his Toshiba a few years ago...cost him $2000 back then :\

And in the US they charge $130 for 3 years warranty =/

Yeah I saw it at 1599 at future shop (same as best buy). Must I take the extended warranty right now or I can wait 2-3 months directly from Toshiba? ( Because I have exactly $1580 right now, could probably manage my father to pay the taxes for now and I refund him next month).

Future shop wants $450 for 3 years

Why do I have to pay 15% taxes =/????

    Because you love the government!

I believe you have up to 30 days (after buying it) to register your laptop and still be able to purchase an extended warranty directly from Toshiba. Double check with them to be sure though!

The extended warranties offered by Canadian (big chain) resellers are disgustingly expensive and only chumps buy them :p

Toshiba kept sending me e-mails to buy the extended warranty right up to the week before my one year warranty expired.

Okay I'll probably take the extended warranty later.

Futureshop wants $450 while Toshiba Store wants $285 for 3 years. I'll email them to be sure.

I noticed futureshop has a "W'll beat any prices by 10%" policy, so I'll should be able to get the A200-TH7 for $1480CA :)
