    ok, my toshiba satellite...

i downgraded it to XP, touchpad didn't work.... i was fine with it since i used a mouse anyway.

but after i formatted back up to Vista, touchpad still wouldnt work, and i tried every single driver on Toshiba.com, even "ALPS Pointing Device" drivers and all the "Synaptics" drivers...

anybody know how to solve this?

Check in the BIOS to see if there is an option to enable / disable the touchpad.
