Hi, I recently got an A300 that comes with 64-bit Vista Home Premium OS. However I checked what was actually installed and discovered it was 32-bit. Is this standard practice for Toshiba? Should I just reinstall from the recovery discs (or better yet do a clean install)?

    Specs:
    CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz
    HDD 2x 250GB (5400rpm) SATA
    Memory 4GB (2G + 2G) DDR2 (667)
    ATI HD 3650 card

Most laptops only come in 32bit OS flavors. Unless the order page says Vista64, you're screwed.

The recovery disks are labelled as Vista Home Premium 64-bit so I assumed that was what was installed.

Well having researched a bit more, it seems I have the option of either keeping with 32-bit or using the Recovery disks to install 64-bit. So my question then is, is it worth doing this (particularly as I have 4Gb ram installed) or would there be negligible performance increase?
