Thinking about purchasing a Satellite A305, and while I love everything about this notebook, the hard drive technology on it from Toshiba Direct does not please me.

Does anyone know if the 5400 HDD are of a 2.5" manufacture? The dual HDD config of the A305 excites me, since I am thinking of purchasing two after market 64GB SSDs and swapping them in place of the traditional HDDs offered by the A305.

Is this possible? Of course I'd reboot the hell out of the system and re-install vista, but I just want to know if the power supply and hardware can configure an A305 with two SSDs.

    Any help is appreciated!

I don't know - but it sounds like an interesting way to go. I ordered a secondary Hitachi 200 GB 7200 rpm HD that I plan to install on my A300. Down the road I might replace the primary with a flash drive. Maybe try Toshiba Tech Support. They also have a spec sheet on the Toshiba website that may help.
