A retailer has to indicate if a computer is refurbished or not. The Toshiba A45 should be on the Toshiba site and I know this notebook has been out for some time. You should do a search on Toshiba A45 and not the specific subcode (SD1202) which is just a cryptic indicator of the configuration. By the way, Circuit City is running a $600 sale on this very same notebook I believe (check the front of this sites headlines to find that deal).

yes .. i read that somewhere .. A45 is the notebook model and the later number is just the config ...
I was also told that wholesale places like sams, costco ect.. are able to purchase "special" config systems ..
the one at circut city that is on sale is the same machine
except
it has only 256 ram
and no wireless ..
this one has
2.8 celeron ( same )
512 ( double )
wireless wi-fi

As what Abaxter indicated, all refrub'd items must be labelled, otherwise there could be legal action taken against the retailer selling the items. I don't think the product sold at Costco are refurb's, you get full manufacturer's warranties on everything, so I wouldn't worry about it. As long as your happy with your purchase, that's all the matters.
