    A500 or L500? What's the difference?

Hoping someone can provide with me some insight. I'm buying a new computer and other than Harmon Kardon speakers, I don't seem to see a huge difference between the L500 and the A500 series. As you can see from the two links below, they differ in price quite a bit, so what's the story? Is there a huge difference in the system other than the speakers?

And yes, I'm aware of all the customization options, but even if they have the EXACT same specs, that A series is still more expensive. Why?

The A500 has the 16 inch screen and if you go with the L500 16 inch option...
    1. You get an AMD instead of Intel processer ( that matters to someone, most likely.)
    2. Look: The A500 has the black over the entire laptop compared to the matte on the L500
    3. A500 has a fingerprint reader standard.
    4. A500 lets you chose which GPU you wish to have. ( Great option if you're a gamer. )

Sorry if I am a bit biased. I own an A500 and love it.

What are you looking for in a computer, that could help make the choice.

Thanks for the reply. The L500 I was looking at was actually a "Future Shop Exclusive -- I really should have sent the exact link, sorry. Here it is:

On a regular basis, I do internet surfing, emails, photo touch ups (so I will be running some heavy adobe suites) as well as use it for music and movies.

an intel graphics card would work fine for you then. They just aren't gaming grade at ALL. My old dell had intel and ran adobe suites just fine. :]

If the speakers are that big of a deal to you and are worth the money? go for the A500. :] If not? L500

Can you explain the speaker difference to me? I dont see it. I feel like I am missing something.

The speakers are definitely big for me. The reason there's a difference is because according to Toshiba's website, ALL A series have Harmon Kardon speakers built it, so I'm hoping it will make the difference.

Hrm. The picture on the website you linked me for the L500 had the harman/kardon speakers logo on them. But I think you know more about that than I do. :D

I must be much more tired than I thought -- I can't see the logo?? Oh well, either way, they definitely don't have the Harman Kardon speakers, but I'm pretty sure the A series do (if Toshiba's website is correct!)

Thanks for the input. Still not sure why there's such a price differential on the toshiba website, but just hearing you're happy with yours is a good start for me!! Thanks
