    Following up on a thread here a month or two ago, I spilled fluids on my laptop and it died :( ... I am hoping the HD is ok, so I took it out and want to connect it to my new Dell Vostro 1500 to get my data out...

    Looking at Tiger direct, it looks like this cable is what I would need to get it going. Should it just be "plug and go"? Will the dell read Toshiba's HD (HD says manufactured by Hitachi, actually)?

    Yes, you plug it in and it will recognize it just like any other usb external drive.
