Strange problem with our Satellite A70 (PSA70C-00V00E): the screen is displaying as if it has forgotten that it has a wide-screen display. At first I thought this was a Windows resolution problem, but it does it upon bootup - even the BIOS screen displays with a black band on the right side, as if it thinks it is a standard screen as opposed to wide-screen.

In Windows, none of the wide-screen resolutions are shown - they are only the standard ones (eg: 1280x1024). The native resolution isn't even listed (1280x800).

There is an option in the BIOS to stretch the display and it is enabled, but still no wide-screen display.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

    Hmm...

I'd try updating your graphics card driver and see if that helps any. You also might want to do a BIOS update through Toshiba's Software Update system.
