I have this toshiba A75 that will not power on at all. The power and battery indicator lights are both solid on so I know it is getting power. The power light is green and the battery light is orange. If I remove the battery nothing changes. When I hit the power button, nothing at all happens as if I didn't touch it at all. No fans start up or anything. I replaced the processor, memory, hard drive, power adaptor, screen assembly, speakers, keyboard and cd drive. So I am thinking it has to be the mother board since that is the only thing I have not replaced. I removed everything and tried it still the same, nothing at all. The light around the power button does not even light up at all either and nothing at all on the screen. Anyways if anyone has anything let me know, but I am going to start looking for a mother board for it. Thanks for any replies.

The power jack has likely broken off. This is a problem that the closely related A70 has.

If you know how to use a soldering iron, it should be an easy repair, although there is not permanent fix, unless you can reinforce it somehow. -
Its not the DC jack. most likely a mostfet failed on the systemboard. you can purchase a "new" board on ebay for a reasonable amount.

Ok I had a problem similar to yours with my toshiba. Maybe this will help. Ok so does the green power light mean that its "on" (even though the display is off and the computer is malfunctioning)? Hold the power button down til that light goes off. When, and if it goes off, wait 30 sec and turn in back on. If it starts back up normally (not safe mode), go to control panel (in classic view) and select power options. The power plan should be in balanced mode, under balanced mode select change plan settings. Then select change advanced power settings. Scroll down to processor power management and expand it. Then select (expand) minimum processor state. You'll see values for on battery and plugged in, change both those to 100%. Now click apply, ok and close the window. If your problem was the same as mine then this should resolve it. I had to call toshiba's 1-800 number for this. If you havne't called them u should do that too if this doens't help.

The power jack is fine. Once you plug the power in, the green power indicator light will not go out no matter how long you hold the power button and nothing at all happens. The power indicator and battery indicator come on when I insert the power adapter and both go off when I unplug it. It does the same thing with the battery removed. When I push the power button, nothing happens at all, it is just like it was before I pushed the power button, it is like the power button itself is not working. Since the power button is integrated into the main board I am leaning towards the mother board being bad. Anyways thanks for the quick replies, I will get another board off of ebay and try that.
