yea, i looked, i read, and i put it to action...but its not workin...not what toshiba says,n e way...there is a thread on over on the Dell side, where someone used ACER drivers...would it be safe to try for my toshiba?

windows could not load the installer for Image. Contact your hardware vendor for assitance.

thats the message i keep gettin...

but i get all the normal messages everyone else got...like that number 28 and that "turn on camera" blah blah....

but when i try to install, thats the main message, contact vendor...

"the class installer registry is invalid"

thats what it says when i try to do that fix on toshiba site...
then it tells me again to contact hardware vendor..

I have used Windows 98 (or NT 4, something like that, I can't remember now) webcam drivers in Windows Vista, it took a bit of cursing to get the darn thing to install, but after that it worked just as it should. Give it a try, just make sure you set a restore point before you do it.
