If you don't overclock, then you should definitely get them as they will give a 100+ pt boost in '06.
For Overclockers it is a different story. Overclocks don't test well, you'll lose 200 pts easy as well as 5-7 FPS off the top in '06. This driver seems to run very well on a stock core clock and high OCs on the core clock don't do much. Small OC of 500-525 are fine and even underclocking it 25 doesn't really adversly effect it much. When I say small OC are fine, I mean 500MHz on the core clock will get you what you'd see with an OC of 575-600 on a 169 series driver.
On the otherhand, you can OC the shader like a madman. I just played the Crysis Demo for 15 minutes with the shaders set to 1425 and a core of 505 [memory 751] and topped out at 91c. It was pretty much a plateau of 88c - 90c the whole way through. No extra cooling.
It wasn't completely optimal for Crysis, I think it would have benefited from a slightly higher core [like 525-530] and lowering shaders in the 1325-1350 range to compensate temp-wise. I'll just have to play with it some more.
I've only seen 1 glitch, the lights/lamps/sun in the witcher demo can be seen though objects. [like the torches in Thief: DS when played on the 360] I don't recall seeing that problem with the 169.61 drivers I had. Don't know if the full game will have the same problem.
EDIT: Tried 525/1333/760 worked better overall and it topped out at 89c.

yeah I got these drivers running but I find that 3dmark06 is unreliable. I get different scores each time I try. 6854 was with stock drivers for my toshiba x205sli1 then with 174.31 (7136) no overclock again with 174.31 (7218), 3rd time with 174.31 (7129). Then I try 174.74 and get (7172) then 2nd try and get (7065) wth? I think these perform just as well as 174.31 but 174.31 is digitally signed and btw I got a higher score with 174.31, thinking about rolling back just for that.

I've been fairly consistent. I get a score of 7160 +/- 20 stock and 7740 +/- 30 at 530/1425/751.

how long do you keep the overclock? I tried 555-565/1130/837 at most with 174.31 and got 7555. Then I tried playing Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer for about 30min and all of a sudden my notebook crashed and lock up on a black screen. I tried turning of the power with the power button that didn't work so I unplugged and removed the battery and rebooted from there after that I didn't want to overclock again.

I have my sli1 that my son is using now to play his games running at 550/1405/800 all the time using rivatuner 2.08 running XP and it is working perfect and has not crashed once yet, the gpu's both go to around 82c highest when playing games for a while but no problems yet.

What drivers are those Jesse?
As for the temps I posted, they were for Crysis only. On other games I too only get to the upper 70s and low 80s. And I haven't had a GPU related crash. -
wow im kina freaked out per say w/ the 174.16 drivers (no OC'ing) im only getting a score of 6576. any idea on why that may be?

I am using the 174.31 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com.
ATTN SLi1 owners: Try the 174.74 Drivers
