The following info was posted by BLegacy in the sticky "How to disassemble Toshiba Laptops" thread. I thought I would repost it as a seperate thread so it can be found more easily via search. Thanks BLegacy!

    -------------------------------------

I changed out the second module. It is under the keyboard.

You can use this as a guide:

    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptop...e_keyboard.htm

The "securing strip" is the hardest part. You just gotta "man up" and put some muscle into taking it off (at least, more than you probably would otherwise) . When you take off the battery, you'll see some small tabs underneath the strip. I just used a simple ball point pen and a small flat head screwdriver to help me push them out.

The strip hooks over the monitor hinges, so be careful. I used a paper clip to help me lift and pull off the strip. Looking back now, it probably wasn't the best idea as I could've short-circuited something. But, it worked fine for me.

Everything else is simple. Two screws and a plastic clip hold the top part of the keyboard down. Remove that, and you'll see the shiny metal memory module cover. Two screws, and you can remove that.

When putting it all back together. Remember to put the module cover back on !

I powered everything up, and they system info shows the 2gb I installed. Happy upgrading!

    Update:
The link above is no longer working. Steps 7 and 8 in the link below show the removal of the keyboard cover (i.e. "securing strip").

    Thanks and you're welcome! :)

I've also taken pictures, but I would need some else to upload and/or host it if any of you need them. Yes, I'm too lazy to sign up for something like photobucket :p lol
