    Alternative Power Button

    Is there any way to power my notebook on without lifing up my screen and pushing the button? maybe a keyboard shortcut or something I can make to do it via usb or some port, i have no idea, i just need suggestions.

    I was thinking Wake On LAN also, but then I started to ponder...would that decrease battery life? I imagine that the computer would recieve some amount of power from the battery to know the WOL feature is active. But I agree, that's probably your only option besides just keeping it in standby all the time.

    Is it opening the lid or pushing the button.
    I know for me it's pushing the buttion.

    If I close the lid to sleep and open to power up ... to me that is the fastest?
