I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite C40D-A (PSCDSC-008003) and it came with Windows 8, but I would much prefer to use Windows 7. Not that I hate Windows 8 at all, but I _never_ use the Metro UI.

I tried looking on the Toshiba website for Windows 7 drivers, and there are none. Am I stuck with Windows 8?

Sadly at this point if they don't offer W7 drivers your stuck with W8 drivers. But I heard people use W8 drivers for W7 but not sure if it works correctly if one goes that route.

Yes you can use windows 7 fine on it. You will be on your own to hunt down the drivers you need, but that just means getting your video and chipset drivers from amd's site and maybe hit google for your wifi, ethernet, and bluetooth driver. I don't know of any hardware in a laptop that would have windows 8 only drivers.
