    Any info on Toshiba U500 release in US?

    It looks pretty interesting with ATI 4570 GPU and 13.3" screen.

    I am holding off on buying a Dell 1555 until I get more info on the U500 in the UK.

    U500 has just appeared on Toshiba USA website with "coming in July" caption.

    Canadian website has 2 spec options for U500 but disappointing processor options (2.0 and 2.1 GHz). Also GPU is not the ATI 4570.

    Wow, i've never heard of this laptop until now. I was also looking at the Sony SR, but this laptop has similar specs for about $300 less... I don't see any reviews of this laptop yet though.

    Also, I found the laptop for sale at the toshiba direct site http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cdetland.to?poid=446751
    The US site gives you the option to put a p8700 and hd4570 in it.

    only 5400RPM hard drive, will this thing be able to game starcraft 2 ?

    I just got my U500 yesterday, it has the ATi 4570, but the processor is a slow T6500. On 3DMark06 at 1024x768 it got 4425 3Dmarks, which is way better than I thought it would be able to do. So I'm happy so far with it. It runs XP very fast and I found all the drivers for XP as well. I'm waiting for the Windows 7 disc, then I will try out windows 7 as well. Vista was dead slow with all the bloatware that came with the notebook.
