I bought a X200 in Feb 22 2008 and immediatly purchased the 3 year Systemgaurd online for the cost of $450.00. Now I have a cracked screen and they are now saying they have no record of the purchase. I got nothing from them in the mail y but except the big fat lump sum on my Visa statement. They want a email they claim they mailed to me when I purchased it. I will have to call Visa to get the proof I paid for the warranty but this really makes me sick. A big company stepping on the little guy again.

So no one here are shocked by this? Its deplorable a company should stoop to these levels, asking for an email from 2 years ago. Saving warranty information on a computer hard drive, thats the safest way to have proof of purchase! Its obviously the easiest way to cheat consumers out of something they paid for! I remeber after I purchased the warranty they didnt send anything in the mail, no paoperwork, receipt, pamphlet nothing. They also tried telling me I must have purchased the warranty from the store I bought the laptop from. They must hope we are all stupid and have bad memorys.

Did you check online for your serial number that indicates the type of warranty you have?

I bought the system guard warranty for my notebook and I received an email from them indicating the warranty and I have that printed out but also my serial number shows that I have system guard warranty.

Hopefully your visa bill will show what you bought.

I found my Visa statement from February 2008. Shows I paid DATALDE. TOSHIBA SALES $423.75 on Feb 21 2008.

They should send purchasers a hard copy of the warranty. Why store data like that on a computer HDD.

That is why I printed my copy off so that I would have a hard copy.

Did you buy the warranty directly from Toshiba or the store where you purchased it, if it was from the store maybe they didn't send in the payment or register it with Toshiba if that is the case then it would be the store that would be responsible.

I purchased it online with a company called DATALOAD which I did not know at the time. I purchased it online and received a discount for online purchase. They are claiming I did not register the laptop but I am positive I did. I think they are playing games and deleting warranty in hopes people will give up. A warning to anyone who purchased SYSTEMGAURD online to check there warranty status. I think these people a crooked.

After many calls I feel most of the people I spoke with coulnt give a rats about my problem. They treated me like a liar or scammer. I definalty wont buy a TOSHIBA again.

So in the end after I spent a long time calling different departments, I got a call that allowed me to take the laptop in for repair. Keep all your paperwork from your warranty and laptop purchase. Check to see you have the warranty you paid for at Toshibas website and dont take no for an answer if it doesnt show up the way it should.
