    Hey!

This is my first time using these forums, and furthermore I am going to make a decision tomorrow whether to buy or not buy the following laptop. And so I was hoping that someone would be willing to take some time to throw in a comment or two =)

    Toshiba Satellite L650-15G PSK1SE-04K015N5 - Amentio Datakjeden

(Info is in English even though the site is Norwegian)

So, basically I am wondering if anyone has tried this specific model (15G)?
As far as I've seen, the specs are brilliant, and will fit my needs for gaming (without me having any requirements for highest settings and such). However... when I held the laptop today in the store, I really got the feeling of excessive plastic (which I personally think is a characteristic of Toshiba-laptops). Does anyone know if the model overheats (cause of that specific AMD-CPU)? And is it any solid? In all, is it worth it (excluding the price, only spec- and durability-wise)?

    Thanks on advance :)

Looks like its similar to the Satellite Helios in the U.S.
I don;t have any experience with that model

The Qosmio (which I ordered and still waiting to be delivered) has a similar chasis (but 18.4 inches). I did note there are responses of the chasis having a "plastic" feeling. However, I did notice this plastic feeling on the Toshiba Satellite; and I also noticed it on Dell, HP and Sony laptops as well (being that they are all plastic).

I think it is a good buy. I did consider AMD in the beginning, but read on this forum that AMD is new to the notebook market and their CPUs tend to run hotter than intel (this true?)

Anyways, good luck and let us know what you decide.

Thanks for the reply alexmuw :)

I see, I guess plastic goes for other brands as well, I just felt like it was of more notice on Toshiba.

Anyway, yes, AMDs tend to get hotter (when extending from P520 and upwards) than Intel. And from what I've heard about the N850, it should become overly hot compared to a spec-like i5 (eg. 540).

I have decided that I will buy it, and will update this thread later today when I've tested it for gaming etc =)
