Is there any way to restart the pc when the windows hangs? I had to remove the battery to switch off the pc many times when it hung up. Is there any other option?

Try holding the power button for 5-10 seconds until it turns off.

Yeah, holding down the power button until it shuts off is basically the only way you can shut down a notebook, other than removing the battery and power supply.
