Still researching but wanted to see if anyone here has either the A305D or the P305D, and if so, what is your opinion of this?

I posted a review of an A300/305 recently on this forum. You can search for it. The short of it is - great machine - but I would recommend doing a custom configuration from Toshiba direct (the machine will be listed as an A300-ST4004 instead of an A305-XXXX). You will get exactly what you want that way.

I was thinking of trying to get one from Best Buy some time by end of summer if there is a super spectacular sale, when they have one of their better payment plan deals.

Any thoughts on this one? I am drooling over the $699 price at Best Buy. My use is generally MS Office, Music, a little light photo editing, internet, very occasional light games (The Sims).

    Thanks!

The M305D-S4830 might run a little hot because of the AMD cpu, I would go with an intel, but besides than that, it would be great for you. Also I prefer a 15.4" because I don't move it around a lot and I like the extra inch.

I actually picked it up Friday and am quite pleased with it. I like the smaller size for portability. Appreciate your input!

I haven't tested that yet, I've been mostly doing uninstalls of the bloatware and installs of everything I use so I have kept it plugged in most of the time. Today or tomorrow might be a good day to test.

Decided to take it outside for a while since it's a beautiful day. Managed to get 2.5 hours in balanced while having a couple IM clients open, Itunes running and browsing on Firefox. I'd say decent. Now I just have a sunburnt scalp that will thank me later when I go to take a shower :)
