I have a Toshiba A300 laptop (it's like an A305). Does anyone know of a good aftermarket replacement battery? I have found the Toshiba 6 cell to be an absolute piece of junk - I am only getting 40 minutes of life on a 15 month old battery. And the reviews I have read on the 9 cells don't sound much better.
I was hoping somebody might make a better 6 cell replacement than what Toshiba makes. For instance, I understand that lithium polymer cells get better run times than the standard li-ion.
The battery is definitely the low point on these laptops. I'm tremendously disappointed with Toshiba in this respect. Other than that, the laptop is great.

I did find this battery that sounds better.

I'd still like to find something even better like Li-Polymer though. -
Your only getting 40mins?! You must have ruined that battery's memory somehow are you run everything at MAX and draining it. I got over an hr out of a 15$ battery on ebay. Then a few months later it decided to not hold charge for more than 15mins.
Something else is wrong in this picture -
I've read bad customer reviews about the 6-cell battery also. We might opt for the 12-cell for our A505-S6965 if battery life becomes a problem at some point. People seem to like the 12-cell, and it lifts the laptop at the back which should help with cooling, though it will make it heavier as well. I'd also be interested in input on any Li-Polymer batteries that might be available.
Anyone know of a better than Toshiba replacement battery?
