From what I know they are going to only release with the 460m, NOT the 470 or SLI (drool)

I don't have a source, but I am pretty sure they are releasing in time for the holidays. NOt sure where I remember reading that; it might have been this forum.

I'll post any new info about the next-gen Qosmio here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/toshiba/515140-next-gen-qosmio-x500s.html

No one knows exactly when it'll be released, but the image makes it pretty clear that it'll be available in the holiday season. Personally, I'm betting they're announced in Oct. and released in Nov., which is almost exactly the release schedule of the Qosmios last year. The only other thing to consider is Sandy Bridge's release in Jan. 2011. If you need an i7 quad-core, I'd advise you to wait for that. i5s right now are pretty good.

Incidentally...why on earth do you need SLI? Not even the G73JW or Alienwares have that. 460m is one of the fastest GPUs out there. You're not going to get SLI without another $1000 at least.

Because he is thinking like a desktop PC user most likely and trying to cram as much power into his lappy as possible.

I couldnt said it better myself =)

I have a 3 year old Dell Vostro and the gpu sucks. I cant play GTA IV on it without lag and graphic flickering.

And since i dont own a desktop PC and prefer the traveling mobility a laptop provides, i want a powerhouse that i can play D3 on when its released =)

I know Clevo offers SLI, but i dont like the "shell". Qosmio looks awesome and with HK speakers, most likely sound awesome aswell.

I noticed your other thread with the new release. Stupid question perhaps, do you think you can buy an extra gpu and SLI it yourself?

    Thanks
    Robert

I am going to take an educated guess and say absolutely not. If you want that kind of customizing option, Toshibas are not the machines to allow it, at least not as far as I know. Clevo, you already mentioned, I know you can do a lot more customizing with, as well as I believe the G73 models.

There is no way you can fit SLI into a G73, not a chance.
